Cop Sued For Excessive Force

A Kansas City Police Department officer has been sued for excessive force three times in 14 months. The latest lawsuit was filed this week and the officer’s DashCam captures the dispute. The man who alleges he was unlawfully assaulted by the officer vowed to file a lawsuit as he was handcuffed on a city street with a gash above his right eye.

The video shows that Officer Brandon Hunter and his partner pulled Carlos McCain over Oct. 30, 2010, for having a license plate that was covered. McCain repeatedly asks why did the officer strike him. ”You hit me for nothing, dawg. Did you see that officer hit me? For nothing, dawg. Busted my head, man,” he says. ”Bust my head for nothing. I can’t wait to sue the police. Take me to jail because I ain’t done a damn thing.” McCain claims he was bruised, scraped and cut by the officer.

“Officer Hunt had a number of other incidents that have occurred. The full extent we do not know but we have knowledge of other lawsuits that have been filed against him.” One of those lawsuits was settled earlier this year.  >> Live Feed
